From the surface, it is impossible to imagine what lies beneath. Only once you have descended, passing through a thick halocline and descending towards an eerie mist of the hydrogen sulfide cloud, will you truly understand the sheer size of El Pit. Circling around the cavern, you will observe thousands of years-old trees emerging out of the spooky sulfide cloud, stalactites decorating the roof of the cavern, and on a sunny day, you will be lucky enough to witness the ethereal laser beam illuminating El Pit.
Cenote diving in El Pit and Dos Ojos is a famous combo; perhaps the most famous cenote globally, Dos Ojos is perfect for both divers and snorkelers alike. Explore the “two eyes” of the earth following the winding tunnels enveloped by stunning pillars and cave formations.
