Cenote Maravilla is an almost classically-shaped example of the sinkholes you will find on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is very, very deep – going down to a depth of around 70 meters or more – with a profile something like a giant glass jar, with a narrower open lid at the top and a broader base.
Among underwater photographers, it is one of the most iconic, beautiful, and tricky
Spots to shoot at.
Siete Bocas in Spanish means “seven mouths,” and it is one of the many sinkholes in this region with a depth of more or less 70 meters. The cenote is named for the seven openings, which are all connected by the cavern area underneath the roof. In each of the openings, there are stairs to enter and exit the cavern area.
